Things to know
- Our minimum booking period is 3 nights in Low and Mid seasons and 4 nights in High season (see Seasonal Pricing Guide below)
- Fully comprehensive insurance and breakdown cover is included
- Drivers must have a valid C1 licence and a UK or EU licence for a minimum of 2 years
- There is a one off service fee of £40 per booking

Terms and Conditions Policy for hiring Baloo
Driver Requirements
- Drivers are insured with fully comprehensive insurance.
- Driver has a a Category C1 Licence (what is this?)
Baloo can be driven on a standard driving licence issued before 01/01/1997 and including category C1. - Drivers should be aged between 25 and 75
An additional security deposit of £200 is required for drivers under 25 - A copy of a photo card driving licence (address & ID must be up to date)
- A second type of photo ID such as a passport
- For UK Drivers, a unique driver licence code is required by insurers to provide information about endorsements. We will ask the hirer to visit www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence one month prior to campervan rental date, to generate the code and forward to us at Bristol Offgrid Campers.
- 2 proofs of address from separate sources
- A signed rental agreement
Drivers must
- Hold a Uk or EU licence for a minimum of 2 years
- Not have had their licence suspended for any period within the last three years
- Not have been involved in more than one fault incident within the last three years
- Not have more than 3 convictions with a maximum of 3 points per conviction
- Not have obtained a BA, DD or UT conviction
- Have no more than one fault or outstanding incident/claim in the last three years
- Additional criteria:
- 2x 3point convictions are acceptable (i.e. 2x SP30’s, 3pts each) without referral.
- Single convictions totalling 6 points+ will require referral
Other Rental Conditions
Paying for Hire
A 50% deposit will be required at point of booking and the outstanding balance will need to be cleared 6 weeks prior to the hire date. If your holiday is less than 6 weeks away, the total fee must be paid in order to confirm your booking.
A one off service fee of £40 is added to every booking.
Security deposit
A refundable security deposit of £1,000 will be taken 4 days before the vehicle is released for hire. The security deposit covers the Campervan Insurance Excess and applies to all hires with a UK drivers license aged 25 to 70 years old. Protection for the excess can be organised independently.
The security deposit will be returned 7 days from the return of the vehicle automatically unless there are any issues with the vehicle. We will notify you of any deductions to be made from the security deposit for any damages to the vehicle, breakages, or unforeseen traffic offences.
Driving the vehicle
Please bear in mind this is a reasonably large vehicle, if you are not confident or don’t have experience of driving larger vehicles, this may not be the van for you. You are welcome to visit the van before the rental date. Please allow time for a test drive when collecting.
Mileage
We allow 150 miles average per day of rental. Additional miles carry small surcharge for wear and tear. We will discuss your planned trip before rental is agreed.
Returning the vehicle
The camper van should be returned in a clean and tidy state with a full tank of fuel (as when collected) and the grey water tank must be emptied. The camping gas usage is included in the price of rental. The chemical toilet must be emptied and rinsed or £100 will be kept from the deposit.
